Our name, “Flat Black, ” comes from Australia. It is a loose translation of their term for an Americano. Australians have an unpretentious, yet unabashed, obsession with fine espresso-based coffee culture, and Flat Black is an homage to that spirit. It just seems so… American! And the founders believe Americans deserve better coffee.
