Unless you are a coffee and espresso aficionado like me, the subtle differences between drinks like latte, cappuccino and macchiato can be a bit confusing. As the Manager of Coffee Excellence here at Dunkin’, I’m here to help give more insight into your espresso favorites.
All of Dunkin’s espresso beverages help energize you so you can make the most of your day, especially on these busy travel days leading up to the holidays. In honor of National Espresso Day tomorrow, we are offering our guests any medium hot of iced Latte, Macchiato or Cappuccino for $1.99.
So what’s the difference? What it all comes down to is the ratio of espresso to steamed milk to milk foam.
Latte
A Latte is the creamiest of our espresso selections. Two-thirds of the beverage is steamed milk, poured over a shot of espresso and topped with a layer of milk foam.
Cappuccino
The Cappuccino is all about balance. Equal parts espresso, steamed milk and milk foam, it is a classic choice for espresso drinkers.
Macchiato
The newest addition to our espresso lineup is a handcrafted, layered Macchiato. It is a rich and bold choice, with a layer of steamed milk topped with a double shot of espresso, and finished with a thin layer of milk foam.
